Last spin for the night, another little gem from Saturday's 2buc garage sale... This is actually an enjoyable later period Cannonball Adderly album in the soul-jazz realm of the times. Produced by David Axelrod, reportedly with some Wrecking Crew greats in tow (non listed in liner notes), at times it feels more like a Shorty Rogers session with extra congas and bongos. While the cover isn't perfect shape, I like the tell-tale history of its tenure at a Colorado radio station. Neat promo punch too. A great sounding upgrade ...
