Trawling (and dredging, and electrofishing) should be banned within all MPAs and inshore waters; a reinstatement of the three-mile limit - abolished by Thatcher (at the request of the fishing barons) - perhaps updated to 5 or even 10 kilometers, would greatly increase Scotland’s marine biodiversity and make healthier seas.

And result in more fish.

It's the #capatalism #paradox that they would rather catch all the fish now (ie maximise profit) resulting in no more fish in the future, rather than have a sustainable catch ensuring abundant fish and a future.
