My burgundy 1984 AMC Eagle wagon facing left under the elevated tracks in Chicago on the Lake Street bridge over the Kennedy expressway looking south. It is a bright sunny day with scattered clouds, but the car is in shadows from the overheard matrix of steel to support the tracks overhead. The Randolph Street off ramp can be seen in the background to the front of the car, as can the green interstate sign pointing to the Washington Blvd exit on the expressway below. There is a green '60s Flexsteel "Thunderbird" chair strapped to the roof rack on its way to being delivered to a client. Two blue moving blankets protect the upholstery of the chair. The read railing of the bridge has wrought iron stars in each 6' panel to depict Chicago's flag.

Driver's side front 7/8 photo of a '67-8 Chevrolet Suburban in seafoam green with heavy patina. The hood, roof, and beltline areas of the SUV are heavily scorched of all paint, and light surface rust remains. This is a low trim level truck, and the front bumper are painted white and there is/was no chrome on this vehicle from the factory. The fender emblem is missing, as it the driver's door handle. The rear tire, and the whole rear axle for that matter are missing and the back of the Chevy is precariously balanced on some wooden cribbing. This is a 2wd, and from the lug nuts visible on the front wheel, 1/2 ton 'burb. Very light rust appears to be starting on the rocker panel, as well as possibly a line of rust in front of the rear wheel well.

Very light rust appears to be starting low on the rear quarter panel behind the wheelwell, as well as a line of rust in the rocker panel.

Today's VDD Crush is yet another Suburban. (Sue me- I like 'burbs) This one is a tasty seafoam green with a white roof and desert patina that just looks perfect. 2wd 1/2 ton with "truck arms" and coils in the back, so get your NASCAR on, or just drop it cheap.

Driver's side photo of a two tone blue 2wd 1994 Chevrolet Suburban with aluminum running boards parked in the shade of some industrial building. The Chevy is a 2wd half ton, as evidenced by its five lug aluminum wheels. This is one of the few decent exterior photos of the 'burb that didn't have the seller's booger hook hiding some part of the vehicle.

Interior photo of 1994 Chevrolet Suburban through the driver's side door showing the blue velour, console, and surprisingly tear-free driver's seat for a 283,747 mile vehicle. Even the steering wheel looks nice. There is some damage to the piping on the driver's fold down armrest, however.

Today's VDD Crush is a high mile 1994 2wd Suburban with limo tints and blue velour bucket seats. I've owned both a 6.2 diesel 2wd '89 and a 4wd '72 'burb and enjoyed both, so I should probably get a GMT400 at some point. It's a handsome truck in grampa spec.

Photo I took a decade ago of a red International Harvester steel carrier truck with cute narrow single person cab built to carry overly long lengths of steel on the flatbed and past the front of the truck on the custom rack built into the front bumper. The truck is sitting next to an abandoned steel mill and large green weeds are growing through cracks in the pavement. A very rusty chain hangs from the right side rack of the truck, staining the pavement.
