Ah, the Ford Falcon. In the US it was a compact car & had just a 10 year run. Meanwhile in Argentina, the first gen ran for 30 years! The XL in Australia (like the Opel Senator 20yrs later) was plagued by poor durability. We re-engineered it & ran for it 56yrs, 8 generations & mad max. #weircarbs

Facebook memories got me today. Seeing one of these on the road is becoming much rarer. This was mine 9 years ago. I wish I'd spent a couple grand to make it more reliable instead of palming it off for cheap when I was time poor 🥲 I still love the 3800 in the VN-VS era. #weircarbs

My son prying the head off his MGB with a pry bar.
My son with the cylinder head he just removed. Looks like it's heavy.
My son using his cell phone light to inspect the bores of his MGB engine.
Various engine parts including alternator, distributor, and pushrods (numbered in a piece of cardboard) spread out on a work table.
Head is removed! Bores don't look terrible based on a cursory inspection and our limited knowledge. Hopefully the rest of the engine will soon come out. @guffyfish.bsky.social is now rigging up chains and such. #weircarbs
