(Rescue story, feel free to skip) Neko was found as a 8-month old kitten in their woods by neighbours, running with some feral cats. He was super-friendly, so they brought him back to their house, but they are very allergic, so I took him, fed him, cleaned an abrasion on his neck, and after a nap, we drove around, seeing if anyone had misplaced a cat. No luck. So, we got him to a shelter (I am allergic to the ammonia in cat urine), and my neighbours shared pics, and other friends immediately let the shelter know they wanted to adopt him. They also adopted his brother (whom I also rescued), but that is another story.

Neko is one of my Mewses. On Insta, I used drawings like this to comment on stuff from the mundane to the historical, but their algorithmicness always hid my work.
