Cei had waist-length hair before journeying to Eorzea. He chopped it super short and it's been growing over the years (with some much needed post-battle chopping here and there). I change it in gpose to show where in the timeline we are. Post-EW, his hair is longer and re-styled often.

I think of Thavnair as more technologically advanced due to alchemy than what the game shows. Going to Eorzea actually felt backwards for Cei. He's a quick learner with newer technology, though what goes on in sol9 isn't that interesting for him to learn beyond basics.

Depends on what era of his life you're in. Cei is mostly distant and a hard shell to crack unless you're particularly good at reading between his almost-invisible lines. Once you get him though it is a world of him doing little silent favors to make life worthwhile for you.

Cei's whole thing is that he doesn't feel loveable. Part of it is an Azem thing and part of it is from getting bullied in childhood. He doesn't want to stand out because attention on him makes him shut down. Openly loving him makes him quickly self-doubt, but he's learning.

Since HW, it's been Estinien. On the First, it was also Estinien. Without him, Cei would be gone. Not only because he verbally slapped sense and reality into Cei, but because he has seen Cei's worst and knows what the endpoint of rage is like. Estinien holds him from crashing.

Cei is a big fan of an asymmetrical cape (in other words, a secret third thing) that doesn't get in the way of his tail because it falls at a diagonal. Another option is a short cape that stops above his tail. If he has to, he doesn't mind split or covering capes.

Cei's whole thing from his creation was to be "just a guy." He's quiet and easily overlooked even with his scale pattern and green hair. He's not supposed to grab attention. I didn't want a protag like that because it's more interesting to me when a nobody can be considered a storm.
