Xinming's PhD position was funded by a CSC fellowship, along with support from #cemist_dtu of #GrundforskFond and #NNF_INTERACT of #novonordiskfond
Mark position was financed by a DTU Alliance PhD fellowship, while the project received financial support from #cemist_dtu of #GrundforskFond and #NNF_INTERACT by #novonordiskfond

In this current study, Mark tested a library of 720 Pseudomonas isolates (provided by Morten Lindqvist Hansen and LarsJelsbak at #cemist_dtu) in co-culture biofilms with fluorescently labeled B. subtilis to see how Bacillus growth is influenced in two different media

This work is a collaborative work between the #novonordiskfond funded #NNF_INTERACT project in my group & #cemist_dtu of #GrundforskFond supported by a NNF Infrastructure grant "Imaging microbial language in biocontrol"
If you would like to hear more, I will present this work at the "Novel techniques for studying microbial ecology" session of #ISME19 - Auditorium 2, Thursday morning
Also, catch Carlos at #ISME19 (with a poster on Monday about his new #cemist_dtu post-doc project on Pseudomonas cLPs) P1.27.002
Exciting 🎉 new story in bioRxiv by Carlos N. Lozano-Andrade on his #cemist_dtu PhD work that revealed the importance of surfactin for establishment in a synthetic community

Xinli was supported by a China Scholarship Council fellowship, while lab work at DTU was supported by #CeMiSt_dtu (by #GrundforskFond) and #NNF_INTERACT (by #NovoNordiskfond)
Note: project included the lock down periods in Denmark and later in China, but finally shared here

Congratulations to Rune Overlund Stannius for submitting his PhD thesis! The last #CeMiSt_dtu PhD project from our group that explored the sociomicrobiology of secondary metabolites in Bacillus subtilis
- funded by Danmarks Grundforskningsfond

It was interesting to follow this story during the PhD of Pernille and Nathalie at #CeMiSt_dtu, superb microbial ecology dissecting biofilm succession on plastic carriers in Jyllinge harbour over almost 3 month describing microbiome and metabolome data

The project is a clear example that a Grundforsk Fond Center of Excellence is more than just the Center, #cemist_dtu colleagues helped on our way: Morten Schostag on RNA transcriptome and Scott Jarmusch on MALDI-MSI
