A striking trilobite head shield is reminiscent of a face or mask. The arcuate outline is extended as a flattened "brim" bearing hundreds of tiny pits between an upturned rim and the elevated central region. A prominent nose-like glabella is flanked by a pair of raised, kidney-shaped "cheeks" on which are located the small prominent eye lobes. The brim extends back into genal prolongations, the right one of which has been broken away. The dark exoskeletal remains stand in contrast against the pale grey of the limestone matrix. Length as preserved = 6 cm. Specimen is in the Invertebrate Palaeontology collections of the Royal Ontario Museum.
