It's more reduced size and overall frame allows for the existence of the armoring and defensive traits to exist in it's adult form. InGen initially desired a creature the size of a Tyrannosaurus for public appeal, especially towards children, though the prospect of that idea proved to be difficult in practice. Despite this, the animal remains a formidable predator and a possibly powerful combatant.

Various stegosaurian and ceratopsian features are scattered across the head, giving a distinctive skull shape. The presence of a beak ideal for slicing and snipping plants off allows the creature to possess an omnivorous diet, though the beak also can be mildly beneficial in biting down on prey items. InGen initially wanted overly exaggerated ceratopsian features, though a large frill and horns was proven to be highly ineffective to be grown and maintained for a theropod of its size. Despite these reduced elements, the horns and bony frill are well within reason to be used as offensive / defensive weapons. This is especially demonstrated between brief Ultimasaurus scuffles, though use in hunting remains unknown.

The limbs of Ultimasaurus mostly take their form from the few theropods in its genome, but traits of ornithischian limbs show through. The additional toes act as additional weight-bearing points, allowing the animal to stand more properly and run. The arms and hands are well adapted for bearing weight, though the posture and frame of Ultimasaurus gives this ability few uses.

Ultimasaurus regina is a hybrid once designed and created by InGen, using various popular, powerful, and armored dinosaurs in its genome and then greatly refined for optimal health and quality of life for the creature.
