Born 29 Nov 1947, #ClareTorry is a singer/songwriter best known for her vocals on Pink Floyd's track "The Great Gig in the Sky", from the album The Dark Side of the Moon. In 2012 Rolling Stone readers rated it the 2nd best vocal performance in rock history. She was only paid £30 for her performance.

To represent Breathe (In The Air), I had 6 rabbits leap around Nick Mason (“Run, rabbit, run”). I like the fact that Dark Side turned 50 during the Year of the Rabbit, so that became a great excuse to feature rabbits. I think it’s interesting that the entire band was afraid of flying back when they first started, as shown with On The Run. Eventually the band got through this fear, but David Gilmour went one step further by getting a pilot’s license. I did my best to do Ian Emes’ Time clocks justice here. It hurts that Rick Wright isn’t here; he deserved more time. Of course I had Clare Torry represent The Great Gig In The Sky; it’s her and Rick’s baby! I depicted her swirling some heavenly clouds around (I didn’t want to lay the afterlife imagery on TOO thick, or make it look morbid). Dick Parry’s saxophone playing elevates Money from fantastic to legendary. He represents the song, along with a few coins and bank notes! The moon changes phases, circling around Roger Waters (not that it bothers him). Eclipse, like Speak To Me at the start, references the many messages of the album. What we see, touch, feel, love, borrow, fight…it continues. It continues with different people and different times. There is good and bad in all of us; it’s a perfectly natural, eternal thing. Everything circles back, just like the phases of the moon itself…besides the occasional eclipse.
