The end of the Class 455s! Some desperate souls were out last night...

Personally I never liked them, but they served a purpose. The trailer coaches in these two units were built in 1979 and are older than the rest of the stock :-)

Watching 5719 and 5729 departing Richmond on 20/12/25. A view I have seen hundreds of times from BR livery through to the current SWR version of red and NSE and SWT in between.

It was very poignant to know this would be the last time I would witness this.

It’s sad to see the demise of the class 455, a unit that has served well over the years. A BR built unit, functional, no fuss, did the job it was built for, and now slowly and quietly disappearing.
