I have been extremely stressed and overwhelmed lately. Unable to sleep, panic attacks. So when this pair of jeans cane out of the dryer so ripped, I knew I needed the meditation of #mending clothes.

This is probably my best (least visable) mend yet.

A pocket turned inside out on the left side of my black wool winter coat had a hole, so I sewed shut the hole and reinforced the bottom of the pocket with some new red thread. I figured because the inner pocket isn't seen by anybody, the threat doesn't have to match. Also it's just easier to see some red thread on black and gives it a cute gothy touch.
From high to low: a blue flashlight sitting angles downward on my phone tripod shines a spotlight onto the sewing area of my coat pocket. A needle with a short bit of red thread snipped off sits on the side of the workspace, as well as a small spool of red thread, and a small pair of yellow handles steel scissors. A purple tomato-style pin cushion sits to the top right of the image, filled with various pin sizes.

Other objects on the table not related to the sewing project are a white cup of tea with octopus designs, an upside down Kleenex box where I set my phone down to listen to videos, a library card with geometric star designs by Marisol Ortega, and body lotion bottle. A small container of a rainbow of sample threads and needles that came from my school's fashion programs (a closed college that had various degrees for design programs) is sitting under the tripod as well. The red thread and accompanying needle was used up for this pocket repair as well.

Found a hole in my coat pocket and decided to do some repairing instead of buying an entirely new coat. 🙃☺️ #slowfashion #clothesmending #mending #handsewing #sewing
