Winter winds push cool dry air across the southeastern United States. Once the winds reach the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, they pick up moisture, and rotating convective cells form #cloudstreets.

"Cloudstreets" Clouds with a Palmetto Tree in foreground. These Sea Effect Clouds happen when when frigid COLD air moves over warmer, moisture packed sea air, creating instability. Air rises rapidly, clouds explode upward, and you get these wild organized cloud bands over the water.
