At the #CNU33 closing panel, CNU 34 NW Arkansas local host committee member John McCurdy reminded us all that now, more than ever, "new urbanism is about providing spaces where we can love each other."

Made it back from #CNU33 just in time for another nerd fest.
It’s comparatively easy for a car driver to make up time lost after a signal. Not so much for people walking and biking. Make signals shorter or get rid of them.
Based on a few days of walking #Providence (and watching behavior), I think the city could do with fewer.

Managed to make it for part of the #NoKings protest at the Rhode Island statehouse #PVD after my panel at #CNU33 talking about @streetspac.org’s work.

Took advantage of my #CNU33 lunch break to join the #nokings rally at the Rhode Island State Capitol. Festive despite the serious subject matter and today’s terrible news from Minnesota. Happy to be participating in the cool drizzle of #Providence rather than the intense heat of #Phoenix right now.

Shrodinger' bike in #Providence #RhodeIsland while at #CNU33
What is that bump: Half raised crosswalk to the mid island or speed bump for bike lane?
No bus stop.
The sad part is that the street will be restriped soon to make way for a new traffic lane.

I always thought of Jane Jacobs as a sociologist … it turns out hers is the most-dropped name at the @cnunewurbanism.bsky.social #CNU33 conference.
I bet the local tours at #CNU33 were rosy, but if you went on one, see also ..........
Hello #CNU33 stroll over to the Weird Providence in the famous Arcade and check out 2 feet 2 bucks maps of the beautiful walkable world hidden in plain sight around Rhode Island.
I would love this as a poster! 🌊 👣 🚍 #CNU33
ThinkTN President Erin Hafkenschiel took to the stage at #CNU33 in Providence, RI to present “Transit & Mobility: Lessons Learned from Nashville”. This presentation was part of an informative session on successful referenda across the US. Thank you to @cnunewurbanism.bsky.social for hosting!

Get Shit Done! An enticing session title at #CNU33. It’s great when people want to do things rather than just talk about things.
#CNU33 FOMO kicking in… 🥲
Suitable to have a beautiful venue for the Art of the #NewUrbanism book launch at #cnu33
2/2 The PlannersPledge.org - an exhibitor at #CNU33 - is strong on fighting car dependency, and not as strong on fighting institutional racism. But that’s a post for another day (maybe tomorrow).
Want to catch up with us when #cnu33 wraps up? We're hosting another social with Union Studio Architecture & Community Design and CNU New England FRIDAYJUNE 13th.
Enjoy the last two days of #cnu33, and we'll see you on Friday. RSVP below: actionnetwork.org/events/house...
There are 10 traffic deaths for every fire death. Have a policy that whenever your city replaces a fire response vehicle, buy one that can navigate smaller streets. ~ @siegman.biz #cnu33
