(4/5) If only there was a magic potion to make you fall in love with 35mm rangefinders… The Canon IV Sb2 and Canon VI are compact, silent, not too heavy and the Cosina Voigtländer lenses I have for them are great but they are too fiddly for me.

(3/5) The “Texas Leica” is big and disturbingly loud for a rangefinder but those are hardly flaws. The built-in lens hood is a nuisance. Still, the lens is fantastic and I have taken some of my best shots with it. Therefore:

(2/5) If the Pentax Auto 110 Super had manual exposure, it would be on the list.
The Minolta 110 Zoom SLR Mark II has a ‘B’ setting (and exposure compensation) but the 25-67mm fixed zoom lens sorely lacks wide angle focal lengths.

My grandfathers Diacord, sporting new leather on the front after a long search for a replacement!
2/ Ricoh Diacord - my grandfather’s camera. I never met my father’s father who also passed away young; but I have his camera and a huge stash of negatives from it of my father doing things like running track in high school. It is in great shape and I use it for family portraits!

1/ Nikon N2020 - my first real camera. It was my uncle’s camera that my family gave me when he passed away much, too soon, when I was 10.
