More work on the #SolarCluster tonight. Using #Zephyr to bridge between #collectd and some INA219 current shunt monitors.
The code runs on a Raspberry Pi Pico, and enumerates two USB CDC-ACM UART devices. One is a console, the other is a Modbus/RTU slave.
Two things I learned:
1. Your first […]
Mains power supply chart, this shows the two sources of power for the property: mains incomer and solar inverter, both active and reactive power. To the right we have two meters showing the line voltage and frequency. Power usage is cyclic at the moment between 700W and 500W with a small amount of reactive power moving in sync with the active… my hunch is this is the fridge kicking in and out.
Power load usage measurements. This shows the active and reactive power for each load circuit: cook top, oven, both power point circuits, lights and hot water system. The only one showing any real variance is "general power 2", which we've identified as the upstairs power points … smart money is this is the fridge.
I mentioned `collectd`, that's feeding into InfluxDB and visualised by Grafana.
I plan to write a small Python script that'll read the data recorder on the PMC-512 and pump that into InfluxDB, but in the meantime, this gets me going […]
