18 typewriters on a rolling cart. I carry the electric typewriter out separately because it is so big and heavy.

How I set up each station: Richard Polt’s “The Typewriter Manifesto” on one side, instructions for using a manual typewriter on the other, and a story starter already on the machine.

I reserve the student lounge for typewriter story day each semester because it’s preferable to enraging my colleagues in the classrooms to either side of me in the rooms where I normally teach. We get LOUD!
