Found some signs of Beaver activity earlier at #Conningbrook lake Ashford.I have seen similar before along the River Stour and the main lake ,but these chewed branches were along a tiny culvert off of the river. #UKmammals #Kentwildlife

Wrong choice today at #Conningbrook ! Boots or Wellies ,plumped for boots ....and quickly regretted it ! absolute swamp ! On the main lake numerous Herring,Bl headed and a single LBB Gull .30 distant "Small egrets",mostly Little +at least 2 Cattle,1 Cettis Warbler and some Summer plumaged Med Gulls.

Have neglected #Conningbrook of late ,so had a look earlier. Weather was pretty changeable ,no birds of note ,a few Com Blues and two Brown Args + Browns (var),best 2 Painted Ladies...with all the Nettles there ,not a single Peacock or Small Tort; larval nest ! 1st Willow Emerald Damsel (2) of note.

At #Conningbrook lakes there is a good showing of Ragged Robin at the moment. And on a local woodland pond Water Violet has re-appeared #ukwildflowers

At #conningbrook earlier..very windy ! Bird highlights a hunting Hobby and a Kingfisher.Between gusts, with a little sun a few Damselflies (Azure+Blue-tailed) best a single Downy Emerald Dragonfly +a single Wall Brown butterfly.A day flying Bat (Daubentons ?) was a surprise. marcheath.bluesky.social
