Found some signs of Beaver activity earlier at #Conningbrook lake Ashford.I have seen similar before along the River Stour and the main lake ,but these chewed branches were along a tiny culvert off of the river. #UKmammals #Kentwildlife

Hard work, but fun, between Scots Float & Newington Bridge on edge of the marsh: 130 Teal, 7 Wigeon, 8 Gadwall, Woodcock, Great White Egret, 12 Yellowhammer, 5 Stonechat, 70 Redwing, 120 Fieldfare, Red Kite, Marsh Harrier. NO Corn Buntings here this winter.

Hemiparasite news: Red Bartsia is widespread, dotted about

Went looking for orchids, found broomrapes. Common Broomrape, Orobanche minor, parasitic on pea family and other hosts book says. There were lots, quite widely varied in appearance. Nashenden bridleway, which has good lane verges. #WildflowerHour #BSBI #botany #ParasiticPlants #KentWildlife

Saw this White-shouldered Shieldbug (Dyroderes umbraculatus) on the Isle of Oxney, just north of Rye, today. First recorded in UK in 2013.
