Artwork of Krossbow. Basically Klingers from DKC2 donning the Robin Hood costume, they reside in the treetop levels throughout the game and would shoot you as you ascend.

Not much else to say, just that the climbing mechanics are dumbed down in DKC3 (what happened to climbing up two ropes at once).

Happy #FossilFriday! It’s the last day of #Croctober so check out this amazing cast Macrospondylus 🐊, from the #Jurassic of #Germany at the Science Museum of Minnesota! It lived about 180 million years ago and would have spent nearly its whole life at sea, & even had super reduced front legs!

Lots of stuff going on so I'll keep #Croctober Day 30 a simple one
Here's a photo I took myself of the 4 meter Tomistoma male that was kept at the Vienna Aquarium until not too long ago

Day 28 of #Croctober, we're racing towards the finish line
This is one of my favourite images of Dakosaurus for two reasons
Reason 1: it nicely shows just how enormous this animal got
Reason 2: it also shows how stupidly tiny its arms were

DAY 27 OF #Croctober IS FRESH OFF THE PRESS
Meet Wadisuchus, published literally just this morning by Sara Saber and colleagues, a new decently sized (3-4 meter roughtly) dyrosaurid from Campanian Egypt, the oldest of its family.

Simosuchus was not the only notosuchian with complex teeth. Look no further than Pakasuchus, which straight up just mirrors mammalian dentition down to the grinding molars.

#Croctober Day 25
Everyone loves Simosuchus. But did you ever take a closer look at its teeth? Well if you did then you'd see that they are quite complex, fitting its herbivorous diet.
They also look a bit like those of some modern iguanas (pic on the right)

I'm taking the principled stand of no longer use the term False Gharial but instead the Malayan Gharial. It's not false, they are just a little different... I hope yall join me #Croctober 🐊

Among the most impressive crocs I've seen first hand is the pair of Indian gharials on exhibit in the NHM Vienna. The male measures almost 5.5 meters and has been part of the collection since the early 1900s.

And for this purpose I want to make you mad.
This is Caririsuchus.
This specimen was taken from Brazil and sold to a private collector. It is as of right now lost to science.

Artwork of Kommodore X. Not an OC this time, as this is based on the scrapped Mr. X character for DKC2. It took some thought on what to place him in, as K. Rool was already a Captain, and Commander sounds higher than Baron. At the last minute, turns out Commodore is higher than Commander; and yet the only saving grace for Rool's importance is nobility.

Anywho, incorporating Kommodore X is basically having him be the one to commandeer the Knautilus. And you do fight him numerous times throughout the overworld, with each fight giving you a clue to finding Krematoa (of course, a veteran player of DKC3 would be able to raise the world beforehand).

Upon completing all the worlds and scuttling the Knautilus, you fight Kommodore in person. To avoid a rehash of K. Roolenstein's fight, Kommodore's is a combination of both Kudgel and Kleaver's fight from DKC2; a few volleys of attacks (including some while he is in the background, the one element from the vanillage game I'd incorporate) and you are handed a steel barrel to smite him.

Did you know there's a species of crocodile in the US? The American Crocodile (Crocodylus acutus) can be found in Florida! They also can be all the way down to Venezuela. A pretty impressive range. #Croctober 🐊

Pops the alligator at Gatorland. He was a hatchling when the park opened in 1949. He apparently is also a movie star, having appeared in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

That film takes place in India (filmed in Sri Lanka), where crocodiles live. What were you thinking Spielberg?! #croctober 🐊
