Amphibian x-ing sign warning drivers to slow down. It was one of the first rainy night in the 40's this year and the amphibians did not disappoint! I dawned a headlamp, reflective vest, rain pants and jacket and joined dozens of people on a road with multiple vernal pools. I crossed peepers, wood frogs, spotted salamanders and one mystery salamander.

Tonight was the big night in Massachusetts! Joyful volunteers across multiple towns helped frogs and salamanders navigate busy roads to cross from their usual habitat to breeding grounds in vernal pools. Drive slow on rainy nights and save amphibian lives! #crossingbrigade #amphibians #salamanders
