6:20pm: The storm moving east out of northern Loudoun County, which was briefly warned for a possible tornado, has now prompted a Severe T’storn Warning in western Montgomery Co until 6:45. Damaging wind gusts to near 60mph are possible. Poolesville, Darnestown & Germantown are included. #cwgalert

6:12pm: The National Weather Service has already CANCELLED this tornado warning. #cwgalert

6:05pm: TORNADO WARNING in northeast Loudoun County north of Leesburg includes Waterford. Warning goes until 6:30pm. Take cover in interior room on lowest floor. #cwgalert

518p: Last batch of showers and storms passing thru Beltway area with some downpours over next hour. May then have a pause in rain for a couple hours or so before chance of more showers later tonight. #cwgalert

425p: Numerous showers and storms developing west of DC and pushing east. Expect a showery/stormy next couple hours in the area. Most intense storm with possible hail hitting Warrenton. #cwgalert

7:15pm: Storms have weakened some as they reach DC and I-95, except those passing south of the Beltway remain stronger for now. They’ll continue to work their way through southern and eastern portions of the region the next couple of hours. #cwgalert

5:45 pm: Scattered showers and storms working this way from the northwest and west, focused near Frederick next bit. They’ll be hit or miss but pass through over the next several hours with brief heavy rain and some gusty winds. #cwgalert

4:54 pm: Storms continue focus on the eastern half of the area--a couple smaller cells western suburbs. Biggest storm exiting SE DC and slowly moving south/southeast along old storm outflow. Tough travel along southern Beltway till it passes #cwgalert

4:10pm: Flash Flood Warning including Glen Burnie MD, Baltimore Washington Airport MD and Severn MD until 7:15 PM EDT. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible. #cwgalert

3:40pm: Broken line of storms in northern burbs sinking south. While it may break apart more, any pocket that survives can dump up to 30-45 minutes of heavy rain and lightning in the next couple of hours. Also quite a few storms E/NE of DC from Bowie and Annapolis up to Baltimore. #cwgalert

5:54 pm: New flash flood warning includes part of Baltimore where the heaviest storms are focused lately. Around here, it's mostly moderate or lighter activity lately. May be that rain will continue dwindling from here, but still watching. #cwgalert

5:17 pm: Heaviest storms currently south of the Beltway and closer to Baltimore. DC and west mainly dealing with relatively light to moderate rainfall now. Still need to watch for any stronger cells that pop up or try to move in. #cwgalert

4:23 pm: Storms in the area barely moving which is a primary cause for the flood risk. Any of the activity can quickly produce flash flooding given the intense rainfall rates. If you come across high water: Turn around, don't drown. #cwgalert

6:28pm: Back edge of what seems to be last somewhat solid band of moderate to heavy rain is now in DC’s western burbs and moving east. Should see activity taper west to east across DMV 7-8pm. Scattered lighter showers, maybe an isolated heavier shower, may linger later. #cwgalert

5:55 pm: New round of storms moving into the immediate area. Not as intense as prior round, but flooding downpours remain a risk until this activity passes. Especially so in the earlier flood warning areas. #cwgalert
