March of Robots 2025 Cybird is cheering!
And that is The March of Robots! This is the third year I've done it, (the first two have been lost to other platforms) and the most elaborate I've made my art in this challenge. It was a ton of fun and I'll gladly do it again next year.
March of Robots Day 31 […]

Cybird walking on a trail in the middle of a field.
Me walking along a long trail at one of the many parks in California.

Cybird with stylus in hand looking over a drawing tablet with a piece of paper stuck over it.
My drying markers inspired me to try doing digital art again. Two observations:
1. Sticking a piece of paper to the pad does help the feel of drawing pretty well.
2. Trying to pull the colors of my markers from official sources makes me look washed out af.
Cybird looking at a seashell
Big ass shell I saw at the beach one time.

Cybird sick in bed.
I have been feeling under the weather the last couple days, so I've been below my blankets for a while.
March of Robots Day 28: Below

The empty frames of MechaDragonite and YoshBot.
A pair of alternate bodies that I can slot my Artificial Brain Unit into should I want to.

Cybird on the phone with Alli. Cybird's antenna tuft is raised.
Alli spends half the year living with his other hubbies up in Canada. Despite that, we keep well in touch with each other.
March of Robots Day 26: Move
#marchofrobots #marchofrobots2025 #cybirdart
Cybird using a compound bow in a left handed way.
Archery is pretty cool, I would like to get into it if I could afford my own bow.
March of Robots Day 25: Arrow

Cybird mid flight as viewed from the back.
My full wingspan is much larger than my wings without the feathers extended. Now if only these hard light projections could pick up objects. Alas, solids pass right through them, and I can't really bend them like fingers anyways.
March of Robots Day 24: Reach […]

Cybird angrily yelling and pointing at someone out of frame.
I've said it before, but I'm not a fighter. It takes a lot for me to actually start fighting with other people.
March of Robots Day 23: Fight

Zheodora the Ghost Yinglet hovering over Cybird.
This is Zheodora, another member of the hivemind that Jerry is a part of. They are indeed the ghost of a Yinglet.

Cybird looking at a computer with an error on the screen. "Error Access violation 0000000000042... in module '... Read of 00000"
You'd think being a robot would make me more tech savvy, but alas...
March of Robots Day 21: Code

Cybird looking at a tire swing.
It's a swing. I don't have any bigger ideas for this one, tbh.
March of Robots Day 20: Swing

Cybird having crash landed.
Birds are typically depicted as very graceful and elegant. I'm... not always... that.
March of Robots Day 19: Poised

Matty the Shapeshifter as a raccoon answering the door for Jerry the Mouse, Cybird, Alli the Tapir, and Luke the Werewoof.
We never actually told our metas that we were coming, only Matty was home to greet us. Still very nice to see them.
March of Robots Day 18: Surprise

Alli the Tapir, Luke the Werewoof, Jerry the Mouse, and Cybird, Alli and Cybird speaking and Cybird pointing out of frame.
The hubbies and I taking a week long trip north from New Los Angeles, California all the way through Cascadia, and into Alberta, Canada to see our Meta-hubbies. We're taking low level rail only and making several stops along the way. I mean sure, we could just […]

Cybird's hand holding a gun loaded with a can of "Foaming Solidifying Pepper Gel"
I'm not someone who likes fighting, and I don't kill. Plus I live in a pretty safe part of New Los Angeles, so I don't have to worry about defending myself all that much. I do keep one self defense tool in my home, and that is a pepper gun. It fires from a […]

3 panel sequence. Cybird with an instant film pack in their beak, they close their beak, and then they spit out the black slide.
Another feature that I can access with my beak is an instant film camera. There is a slot that accepts film packs at the back of my inner beak, behind the entrances to my biomatter reactor and storage bay, that accepts instant film packs. From there, I am able […]

Cybird's Beak, "Biomatter Reactor" (a red organ with yellow biohazard sign), and "Internal Storage Bay" (a plain light grey organ)
Inside my body, beneath my biomatter reactor, is my internal storage bay. This allows me to swallow objects, keep them in a safe place, and recall them at will. Inside, nanite polymer (chains of nanobots suspended in viscoelastic fluid) sorts, tags, adjusts size […]

Cybird standing in the center of a circular platform on a beach partially in the water. The platform is divided into three segments labeled "California", "Cascadia", and "Sierra".
I went to South Lake Tahoe for a trip last December, and despite the snow and -3°C weather, I made my way out to the beach to see Tahoe Point, a place where California borders two other countries. The water of Lake Tahoe all belongs to Cascadia, but the city of […]

Cybird up on a high place looking over a city full of greenery.
Being able to fly gives me the ability to be alone in places that others can't reach, like the spire of Wilshire Grand Center, the third highest point in New Los Angeles.
March of Robots Day 12: Alone

Page divided into 3 wedges: Shrinking Drive: Cybird poking around a can of Pepsi to talk to Jerry the Mouse, who you can only see their nose. Portable Biomatter Reactor: Cybird about to eat a burrito. Hard Light: Cybird with a clipboard looking at a plane of hard light bisecting an orange ball.
There's a lot more magic* in 2429 than one would expect, but three that are particularly relevant to my life:
**Shrink Drive:** Allows me to change my size on a uniform linear scale from my usual stature of 2m and 200kg all the way down to a minimum of 2cm and […]

Cybird behind a brick wall next to a gate on some grass.
It's a gate. I don't have anything, I'm sorry.

Cybird flying over a city scape at night.
Here I am, flying through the streets at night as I often do, likely listening to some synthwave in my head. The glow from my wings and tail make me pretty hard to miss.

Modern tram on grassy tracks in front of a vintage funicular railway with signage declaring it "Angel's Flight" with the car's sign displaying the year 1901. All this in front of a pair of buildings.
The historic Angel's Flight Railway in the heart of New Los Angeles, a that has been in service for over 500 years. It sits adjacent to the 3rd Street Tram Tunnel and connects the Olive Hill Plaza and the Hill Grassway, and holds the record for being the […]

A portion of Cybird's HUD, highlighting the compass along the top center of frame. Cybird has a heading of 219° and is slightly west of waypoint 1. The compass also has waypoint 2 shown. Cybird is shown to be above the clouds. Text reads "Compass #7"
A small portion of my HUD, highlighting my compass. It's useful for when I'm flying above the clouds to dodge the rain.

Cybird's wing with skin removed hanging from the ceiling with green holographic flying feathers extended. Cybird stands behind, using his other wing to repair this one.
Here I am touching up my wing's flight feathers. These translucent hard light structures are a weightless way for me to push against the air and fly.
(I totally didn't forget, lol)

Cybird pointing at the Griffith Observatory through the window of a Gondola. Sign above the window features a stylized "GG" logo and "Line A," with stops named "Universal City," "Hollywood Sign" "Observ." That connects to "Line B," and "Glendale"
Seeing the historic Griffith Observatory from within one of the Griffith Park Gondolas that connects key parts of Griffith Park and adjacent transit. The gondolas are useful for mountainous, low traffic areas like the park.

Cybird, Alli the Tapir, Luke the Werewolf, and Jerry the Mouse (sat on Cybird's head) sat on a sofa with controllers in their hands. Text reads "4; Perfect"
Me and my hubbies partaking in some videoed gamery. Nothing could be more perfect than having fun with those you love.
