It’s been years, and well over 100 books, since I was in the Cosmere. But my D100 roll brought me back and I am about 1/5 of the way through The Well of Ascension. I can’t believe how much I missed Sanderson’s writing. I will effortlessly get through this in 2-3 days.

Le Guin’s The Word for World is Forrest was fine. Very Straightforward. Rolled a 76. Now after YEARS of delay, I am finally diving into the second Mistborn novel. I can’t wait

Finished Silverlock. Started out so strong but kind of fizzled. Next choice…Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica. This should be interesting.

Ok. I am up to date so my posts will only come as quickly as I can read. My last roll, and my current read, is Silverlock by John Myers Myers. I hear great things!

Another choice, another classic sci-fi…The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K Le Guin. What a great read and the sexual politics and ideas were so ahead of their time and refreshingly relevant today. Can’t wait for more Le Guin.

Dan Simmon’s Hyperion is one of my absolute favorite books of all time. So, I was excited when the d100 landed on Children of the Night. Sigh…I never got into it, though a cool biological basis of vampirism was fun.

JTTCOTE was meh, so I chose another Sci-Fi classic…Arthur C. Clarke’s Childhood’s End. Loved it, even though it didnt quite stick the landing.

My next roll led me to a classic, and my first Jules Verne, Journey to the Center of the Earth. The story painted a great picture in my mind’s eye, but it felt like this happened, then this, then this. No great flow or storytelling. Disappointing

It was time to choose my next one, and what a delightfully odd choice it was. Piranesi by Susanna Clarke. Light, whimsical, weird, and just so clever and original!

Loved my roll, so I rolled again. Landed on Ender’s Game. Where has this been all my life? Amazing! I’m rifling through these posts today. I will be up to date in a few more.

And we are in to 2025, so I chose my first Arthur C Clarke, The Sentinel. Not a great story collection but a couple were worthwhile. A couple more posts and I’ll hit a banger ACC.

Next was a D100 roll and it landed on Arm of the Sphinx by Josiah Bancroft. I read Senlin Ascends almost exactly 1 year ago and it was fine. Book 2 was superb and I was reinvigorated!

Heading to a destination wedding, I rolled 3 times. Landed on Pratchett’s Wyrd Sisters (great), Sagan’s Contact (Near perfect), and Heinlein’s Starman Jones (Absolutely loved). Should have rolled a 4th as I breezed through these 3 effortlessly!

After a mediocre 4-book run, I chose something I had high hopes for…The Martian by Andy Weir. Wasn’t sure the narrative style would hold up, but I was NOT disappointed. Fantastic stuff!!

It was close to Halloween, so I chose Frankenstein. Won’t lie…I could NOT get into it. I’m always excited to delve into classics, but I was bored.
