A walk around the local patch #dalbyforest was particularly quiet. Only a pair of Goshawks brightened the day.
What was noteworthy was no Crossbills in any of the favoured areas. Other birders have noticed this to. They should be nesting in a few weeks. Where are they? @northyorksbirds.bsky.social

A crude throne carved from a tree trunk in the middle of an English forest, a tree trunk table before it. Both tinged slightly green with moss or lichen.

Certainly was a rainy / sunny / misty / clear / chilly / humid evening the other day out at Dalby Forest. The red phonebox at Bickley Gate looked like it had come from another planet in the midst of all the green.

A large and ancient tree, uprooted and fallen into a stream.
A gnarled, ancient tree that looks like a gorilla with massive branch like hair. It’s leaning against a fence.
Perhaps I could get #TreeTuesday off the ground - I’m obsessed with trees and can’t help snapping away. Here’s a couple I pass whenever I’m running in Dalby Forest and I love them both. One has fallen and the other is slowly falling …

Here goes, my first post!
A photo from a couple of weeks ago in Dalby forest. A lovely misty morning, good to be out kind of day.

A landscape photo of thick fern moors with dalby forest in the background. The sky is moody and grey like it's about to rain. The photo is taken from atop a rock stack, with another rock stack in the right hand foreground, covered in moss and lichens.
Today's grey morning has me thinking of my time in the #northyorkmoors #dalbyforest and the #bridestones we climbed this summer. ✨
