An image that reads: She had wanted to help people. Joining the Grey Wardens, proving herself worthy of doing so—the prospect of death did not deter her and had not given her fear. She’d drunk from the chalice and knew her life would end sooner than most, and she had not faltered. And yet. The Blight took everything from the people it touched. It had been expected for her, but she had not considered the impact of seeing it herself. Of seeing the destruction and the bodies brought back to the life, of the decay and rot and devastation as it swept through fields and towns and cities. The children were the worst. When Lehna learned what the old gods wanted to do, she knew they were coming. Dreams melded into nightmares into reality. Darkspawn working together, coordinated as they spread—a plague that could not be contained. So she dreamt, and the nightmares came. Lehna woke up screaming. On the other side of the Lighthouse, she knew Davrin would probably be having a similar dream. Or maybe he knew how to crush those nightmares into a blissful dream—she hoped he did. Because her waking up early in the morning had never been because she was a morning person.
