In the home stretch. Added some rust to various chains in the hollows between links...but then added some silver, since that's also where they'd have wear marks. (No one but me will ever notice.)

It was about this time while applying washes that I realized that upsidedown "skull" had rivets. Oops. Gonna have to swing back on that with metallics.

The mouth took care of itself pretty well while I was painting, it just needed a little tweaking to be happy with it. I mixed a sickly flesh color and an even more sickly wash (I accidentally said "oil" in the last post)

While the warm ink over brown didn't work for the wood, I thought it was perfect for the leather junk-cover. Brown, oil wash, and then brown again for highlights.

Layering up the horns with an orange, very diluted oil wash, then mixing in ochre while still wet. Finally, an ivory dry brush.

Camera washing it out a bit, but a light gray dry brushing to age/bleach the wood a bit brings it home, I think.

A wash made of the Warm Brown ink helped, but seemed TOO warm and inviting. Black ink over that is much better. Going to attempt to weather it a bit, next.

Did some work on the Backpack of Death. Not completely sold on the colors yet, but paint is an additive process. For this, I used one brown for the wood and a darker one for some manual grain.

The Dark Arts box doesn't have any traditional triads, but there were three shades of green that gave me what I wanted here to layer up and then glaze at the end to unify. The two reds are pretty great as well. One for the sores and another for the pentagram.
