We’re turned a corner in the seasons and now my early walks begin and end in the dark, the moon hanging low in the sky, not quite gone. On the quieter streets it sometimes seems as if I were indeed still asleep, not in the sense of being sluggish, but in the way the streetlights’ halos give things a blurry, white-sepia feel, as if everything was lit by a dream. Then my footsteps echo softly as I wander home, ahead of the sun… With thoughts of that moment between waking and aware, here’s some more (US) morning mellow.
