You just got out of the shower and make a coffee. You see dirty dishes from your partner’s breakfast. You ask them if your toddler had breakfast, too. They say “no” because they “assumed he ate already”. You make breakfast for your toddler.

As the parent of two teen boys, I spend A LOT of time teaching them to notice the #InvisibleWork and #MentalLoad that often falls to a family's #DefaultParent, which is in many cases still the mother. Can't really say it's a fun time, but here's to creating change. #genderroles #motherhood
