Truly honoured to receive the @bsdb.bsky.social Marie Johansson prize! A testament to Marie’s legacy and the mentors/collaborators I was lucky to work with.
Such a privilege to grow in the #DevBio community that's supported me since the start of my career.
Looking forward to more exciting science!

Delighted to introduce KELPE: mESCs with two insulated genomic landing pads, which we use to generate new synNotch and PUFFFIN neighbour-labelling lines.
They were named after kelpies, creatures from Scottish folklore, and they look pretty on a kelpie micropattern!

Awesome picture Mathieu! 🔥

These fingerprint-actin ridges look so cool... is it known how they form?

Follow-up from last week’s #FluorescenceFriday 🐟✨

Took a closer look at the gill comb “tooth” — the actin microridges of the enveloping epithelial layer almost look like microscopic fingerprints, each with a distinct pattern

Wait a moment...

...bee lice are THAT closely related to Drosophila?

I had no idea... why isn't there much more evodevo and morphogensis work on bee lice? This divergence from the "normal" Drosophilid bauplan is just... crazy
