And just throwing this out there - a friend of mine is disabled and not able to work. Her social housing provider won’t help sort the garden. forgive the crude design but after any help with materials or muscle #disabledgardening #disability #fundinggrants #gardening #helpneeded all leads welcome

Compost delivery! 14 bags of varying compost types, the large ones leaning against the shed are destined for the raised beds. These were exhausting to move as I'm upper body disabled but I don't give in easily!

Asclepias tuberosa In February. I don’t get out in the yard much in winter but I have an old rollator with large wheels that helps. I use this with caution because the handles can break off with too much pressure. But if your mobility limitation is just balance - they’re great. #disabledgardening

The chips & dust walkway was a cost effective option to give me level walker and manual wheelchair access to our hose and garden. It’s compacted and water permeable. For a motorized wheelchair, you might need an additional bonding agent that can still be permeable. #disabledgardening

I love a naturalistic garden juxtaposed with the sharp angles of a modern house. My garden got me outside again after several years of surgeries that resulted in loss of function in my right leg. And last summer we had a chips & dust walkway installed for better accessibility! #disabledgardening

Here's the magnolia I put in a week ago. That bed needs a ton of work, but that one small area is good. It can be done slowly, and I am content to do it slowly.
