Reelin' in the Years/Steely Dan bass play along by Cara, who will not be in High School for 2 more years! First off, some people were fooled by the shirt. It's not my shirt, it's my 15 year old sister's shirt. I'm not in highschool, not for 2 more years. Anyway. This song is really fun to play, a lot of licks and runs and a cool rhythm. This song has Jimmy Page's favorite guitar solo (probably all the lead guitar work throughout the intro, solo and outro) which happened when ace guitarists Skunk Baxter and Denny Dias couldn't come up with anything and producer Gary Katz found session guitarist Elliot Richardson in the hall waiting for another session to start. According to legend he laid it down in one long take, playing the entire song. This is back when Walter Becker played bass, before Chuck Rainey took over. In June of '23 I got my first bass, a Mitchell shortscale, for my 10th birthday and I learned bass for over a year until I started recording: 86 songs from August '24 to Feb '25. In March, '25 a friend of the family gifted me a '24 Fire-glo Rickenbacker 4003-S and I rerecorded all 86 songs plus about 60 more up to date, August '25. All these recordings were made on Dad's $100 Android phone. Please, if you like my playing, hit the tipjar and help me help me help pay for a shortfall in my school tuition! Even $5 would help! Thank you! https://paypal.me/cararickbass
