cover of the book in question. full title: "surreal stickers & unreal stamps 224 full-color labels gummed and perforated by william rowe" The book is an oversize 11 x 18 inch paperback, 16-single sided pages.

interior page featuring 6 rows of 7 stamps each. these look more-or-less like conventional postage stamps. There is a row of cowboy themes ones - all close-up crops of the same scene. a row of sepia color natural features (they seem to be close-ups/cropped landscapes). Then a row of flowers, a row of microscope images of cells, a row of what appears to be a clip-art portrait of a man and woman that are of the same 2 pix, ad close-up/cropped. and a row of paintings of fruit - once again close-up to be somewhat abstracted.

larger postal-style stamps. 4 rows of 3 each. these somewhat resemble comic panels and appear to be photos that have been painted to highlight certain aspects. some also contain caption boxes and word balloons - again like a comic book would. they are a mix of odd and mundane scenes, for example some people watching a movie screen, the silhouette of a hula-girl on a beach. And 3 of a woman against a void of black dots with speech balloons saying sections of incomplete conversations.

a close-up of part of the back cover of the book. It gives an enticing summary of the content, and in one line refers to the creator as "Bill Rowe" instead of William. It also mentions a postcard set available by the same artist. This section also says the book was published in 1983 - as opposed to 1982 like is says on the inside cover. The bottom of the back cover further gives the ISBN #: 0-486-24371-0 and price as $3.50 in U.S.A.

Do any of my followers know about this artist?
William Rowe. Published by Dover in 1982. I've only found 1 POSSIBLE note in a mail art catalog. There's a punk musician with the same name, but I've asked - it's not him. Lots more info in the Alt Text of each pic.
