As of September 13th, the region had reached its 100th duck curve day earlier than usual this year, with midday electricity demand hitting an all-time low of 8,637 megawatts, approximately 7% below the overnight minimum. This trend is attributed to the increasing output of solar energy production, which now contributes significantly to the regional grid during peak hours, altering the traditional energy consumption patterns and marking a significant change in New England's energy landscape.
