Dumb Money on the ReelRank.net platform, and once again, an F --- for a film I hate. Bang!
'More Like The Big Shart' 😂 Almost never will I link to Letterbox'd using the 'personal blog' button, but here, I've made an exception, because I'm super proud of my review for Dumb Money, which I shouldn't have been so surprised to find was one of the dumbest movies made by probably some of the dumbest cunts in the world (the Winklevoss Twins, others). Click to jump and read it (and Like it there... after you mark this Fair, naturally), but the highlight is definitely where I say: "This movie wishes it were The Big Short SO badly; more like The Big Shart 🤓" This thing is bad-hearted, unfunny, the sound design is, like, bizarrely amateurish and hyper-edgy and ADHD-y, in a way dumb adults sometimes think kids must like, but the shit they ACTUALLY like is incomprehensible, like Skibidi Toilet. This is one of my pretty-rare 1.0 ReelRank ratings. This is a uniquely and singularly awful movie. It MIGHT be worth watching, depending on how well you handle hate-watching (there's SO MUCH to hate, and I'm kind of fueled by it, so this was in some ways perfect for me first thing in the morning; it ruined my day, which is evidently what I am always looking for, just for something to take over my mental real estate, and fucking RUIN my day, lol). Probably best avoided. Paul Dano is usually interesting, bless his heart, but this movie hung him out to dry. It was War of the Worlds (2025) before War of the Worlds (2025), with Paul Dano mostly filmed acting to a camera & ring-light or computer screen.
