One of those albums I've seen for years... initially on walls of collector's shops but more recently in bargyn bins and thrifts as the bloom has seemingly withered from this Bush. Given this was still in the shrink wrap at a thrift, I had to try it. Side 1 left me a bit flat but Side 2 caught my ear... Here's why: Side 2 opens up with their song "I Can Hear You Calling" which was chosen by Dunhiil Records label mates Three Dog Night to open their smash hit album "Naturally" with a much harder rocking version of the tune. Connecting more dots... half of this band -- guitarist/singer Dominic Troiano and vocalist Roy Kenner joined another Dunhill Records act, The James Gang after Joe Walsh went solo before joining the Egrets. Bassist Prakash John was with Parliament for a bit and then Lou Reed and Alice Cooper. Drummer Pentti "Whitey" Glan was the rhythm section with Prakash in the latter two as well apparently. I love connecting dots like this. The Bush album is not bad, but a bit muddy sounding ultimately. I may well purge this but at least now I can appreciate its place in the DNA of 70s rock...
