The annoying thing with sale prices is when they increase the "was $17.59" price higher than before and then show a massive 30% special on the item to make it look like you are saving money.

What I like about the Newtown Greengrocer is that they are locals, they smile, they are welcoming, they have their family helping out and the money goes into their back pockets instead of a stale big brand duopoly store who shifts their profits overseas.

Why would Aldi or any other supermarket chain set up in Aotearoa when the 2 existing chains are embedded and strangling the existing suppliers.

That's pretty impressive for a company classed as a "middleman"
They are just a shop selling products from NZ and all over the world.
Subcontracting others to make and pack their goods but not actually making any product.

One thing I hate when shopping especially the duopoly is when they are out of stock and they move the more expensive items in the range to fill up the shelves.

It's devious and misleading and should be reported.

The sad thing is the commerce commission will come after the supermarkets with heavy fines and the supermarkets will just charge more to make up for the heavy fine.

So in the end the customers will be the losers, twice.
