A lake stretches from the foreground of the image to about the centre. The water is very clear, as can be seen in the shallow foreground, but turns into a dark turquoise towards the far end of the lake visible in the picture, as the water gets deeper. In the top half of the image, the other bank of the lake rises, first as a forested slope and then, above the forest, two mountain peaks with snow rise. Above the mountains, there is a blue sky with scattered white clouds.
