Sabrae was once a famed Kryn Dynasty general, famed for cutting her way through the battlefield with her mighty glaive with the elegance of a dancer. When she was betrayed and slain in battle, outside the reach of the Kryn Beacon, all thought her soul lost, unable to reincarnate back into the dynasty.
Unbeknownst to them, she was in range of another Beacon, hidden in the depths of the Empire of man. She was reborn into a human child, but her mind was clouded and hidden, until the day the glaive returned to them, and the farm hand they grew up as realised their proficiency with a weapon they had only seen in dreams.

Sabrae is my first properly gender queer character. I wanted them to be a human male but be unsure of what to define themself as, given their memories returning to them of a life as a Drow, 7ft tall female general, with hundreds of years of life. To that end, i went for a bit of an androgynous approach for Sabraes human body, which i still really enjoy today.
The armour is based on the Critical Role Kryn, who use beetle and chitenous armour thats grown naturally, instead of crafted, and i had a ton of fun rendering it into place. The idea was that Sabraes former armour is too big to fit them now, so they are only able to use a half plate version that's been modified to fit their much smaller frame.
Eventually, they were meant to multiclass into an Ancestor Barbarian, with the 'rage' becoming a sort of battle focus, where Sabraes former body takes over and is able to channel their years of experience through their new body, somewhat like the Avatar state, but sadly the campaign ended shortly after i thought of the idea.
Still, i love how this work came out <3
