The interior is by Georges-Louis Claude. It is is more bourgeois than you would expect: much like a Belgian mansion of the Belle Epoque.

I've wanted to see this for years. Baron Empain Palace, Heliopolos, Cairo. Built 1907-1911 for the Belgian Édouard Empain (1852-1929) by Alexandre Marcel. Recently restored and opened to the public, it's fascinating and crazy.
