I rode @amtrakcascades.wsdot.wa.gov from Seattle to Vancouver, BC, in 2023, & I did a short jaunt on the #EmpireBuilder from Pasco to Portland in 2010 (not a fun wake-up time for a 17-year-old to catch that train). This weekend, I get to ride another leg of the Cascades line: Seattle to Portland.

Good morning from the #EmpireBuilder. Looks like we ‘re just west Grand Forks ND.
Sleep tracking says I slept for 6.5 hours.
Great dinner tonight on the #EmpireBuilder paired with good conversation with our tablemates. Had our first fresh air break in Winona MN. And chatted with our roomette neighbor Neil from England.
Time for bed. We'll see how it is to sleep as we roll through Minnesota and into North Dakota tonight.
We're moving again! Apparently they had to do a bridge inspection after something hit it before letting us proceed. Thankfully was only 20 minutes or so. That's easy to make up. #EmpireBuilder
We were a few minutes ahead of schedule arriving at Milwaukee, but 1:48 into our journey to Seattle, the train is stopped within view of American Family Field and The Domes (aka Mitchell Park Conservatory).
They announced a 60-90 minute delay due to a “bridge strike” ahead. #EmpireBuilder
