Sabías que desde la version #QGIS 3.4.0 soporta #EqualEarthProjection en dos pasos:

1️⃣️ In Settings -> Custom Projections… create a custom definition with "+proj=eqearth +datum=WGS84 +wktext"
(2) Select the definition in Project -> Properties… -> CRS -> under "User Defined Coordinate System"

Africa is huge - 14 Greenlands could fit inside it - but old maps make it look small.

African groups & the AU push for the Equal Earth projection to fix global map bias.

The newer Equal Earth Projection is a much better alternative to Mercator.

A simple grayscale map of the world using the Equal Earth Projection. Instead of a rectangular projection like Mercator, the graticule lines curve gently toward the top and bottom of the map, giving all contents their true areas relative to each other.

Map projections in the news! And we cartographers are all relieved that it's not the Gall-Peters Projection again. The newer Equal Earth Projection is a much better alternative to Mercator.

About time that we change the way we look at the world map, away from the #mercatorprojection, towards #equalearthprojection. Greenland is not that big, Africa is not that small. We need to stop the misrepresentation of the size of countries #correctthemap.
