Our lab had the honor of organising the annual Etmaal van de Communicatiewetenschap, as part of the KU Leuven Department of Communication Sciences. As a result, we were not only visitors, but also presenters, chairs, and co-organisers of #Etmaal2025 💪. Already looking forward to next year's edition!

A little late to the party but I also had the opportunity to share our work at #etmaal2025!
I presented a paper in which we apply our framework of media pluralism in democracy, focusing on how PSM navigate a media ecosystem that increasingly challenges their epistemic authority. 📺🗞️
At #Etmaal2025, there were no less than 13 presentations by our research team! We discussed gaming and gambling, refugees and discrimination, arts, Islamophobia, data-driven healthcare, digital literacy, mental health, and everything in between. Check out all presentations below!

I shared insights from our latest research (with @timsmitstim.bsky.social) on how health professionals communicate food messages on social media. Using a content analysis, we examined not just what they said, but how they said it.

Yesterday, I presented the findings of our qualitative daily diary study on how emerging adults navigate the tensions between their online and offline relationships when (dis)connecting, as well as how phubbing and FoMO can drive and/or hinder these (dis)connection experiences.
