It is hard to believe but it is already more than a week since we were all in Copenhagen for #EurIPS. It was a truly awesome event❄️
EurIPS 2026: Call for Expressions of Interest & Venue Proposals
Coming off the #EurIPS high — let’s keep the momentum going!
👀 We’re looking for a host team + venue for EurIPS 2026 that can support a unified budget, big workshop participation & smooth logistics.

⏪ Last week, the ISP attended the six-day @euripsconf.bsky.social conference in Copenhagen!

Back from #EurIPS Copenhagen. The European AI "style" came up a lot, which is less about where research happens, more about how: rigour, efficiency, interpretability over pure scale.
Hope it returns in 2026 (offset by a week so we can do NeurIPS Sydney too).
Phrase of the conference: Pareto-front
Yesterday I gave a keynote at the #Causality for Impact workshop at #EurIPS in Copenhagen. We discussed key barriers to real-world impact in #CausalAI — spanning ML, representation learning & discovery. Thanks to Ruth Keogh, Gustau Camps-Valls & the fantastic organizers!

Mateusz Olko & Mateusz Gajewski presented their new method of causal discovery at the "Causality for Impact" workshop at
@euripsconf.bsky.social , which focused on practical challenges and real-world applications of causal methods across domains like health🩺, social👥, and earth🌍 sciences.

Returning from #EurIPS via a long-distance night bus rather than airplane for carbon footprint reason.
I think it is important that even senior researchers change our behavior: practices of the elite pull consumption up, asxour reaction to opportunities set norms.
PS: I do find it painful 😄
On my way back from #EurIPS in Copenhagen. A truly inspiring first edition in Europe, with a clear message that AI is moving toward industrialization and needs scientific understanding, sustainability, and sovereignty — not just more scale. Still letting everything sink in. A few takeaways below 👇
It's a wrap!
After 3 main conference days, 1 #ELLIS UnConference day, and now 2 Workshop days #EurIPS is officially over. Thank you to you all for your support and engagement, it has been truly overwhelming in the most positive way.
The Learning Theory Alliance (LeT-All) also had a social at #EurIPS this year! Featuring a panel discussion as well as mentoring tables afterwards. Building community on multiple continents at the same time!
It’s a wrap for me. Thanks a lot to the organisers for putting #EurIPS together, it’s been a fantastic week and one of my favourite conference experiences. Looking forward to seeing how this experiment will continue!🤞
Gustau Camps-Valls talking about open challenges in causal inference for earth science at the #EurIPS Causality for Impact workshop in Copenhagen today.
It’s the last day of #EurIPS, and we are ending it all with another 9 amazing workshops organized by our fantastic community members.
Similar to yesterday, the workshops will be at Bella Centeret, the ITU campus, and the UCPH south campus, so double check the program
We are nearing the end of the first #EurIPS workshop day, but we are still going strong 📝📚
