Pretty sure Lee Strobel's Case for Chirst is the worse sort of apologetics, as it's disguised as skepticism. This sort of nonsense does more harm than good. #exevangelcial #exatheist #apologetics
One great thing about being raised in a charismatic (think prophecy & tongues) #Christian community: I learned early how to connect with the Holy Spirit. It was often from a weak position of lowliness, unworthiness, desperation.

I'm currently reading The Case for Christ, and Strobel makes a fundamental mistake right off that bat. He thinks he can examine the story of Jesus through the lens of a court room. History is not a court room, and can't be treated as such. He starts with a faulty premise.

I'm an #exevangelical and #exatheist. For some, that's controversial. For me, it means my faith journey has been long, and informed by many different views. It means I've had a lot of questions, and I've found different answers. And that's okay. There isn't just one path.
The Jesus-myth idea is often ignored by scholars. That has been a terrible tactic, because it has left the view unchecked. Which is why I'm working on a series of works that tackles this view. Carrier's work is one of the first I'm going through.

This book is a great example of how you don't respond to criticism. I get it, Ehrman did a poor job in his own book, but puffing out one's chest, while also whining, doesn't serve any real purpose. I'm working on a rebuttal to most of these articles, but just wow. #mythicism #exatheist #jesusmyth
