Fallen snow piles onto a maze of bare tree branches from several trees in the distance. The sun is setting towards the bottom of the frame, creating an ombré effect in the sky gradually going from an orangey pinky kind of color, to a soft and very light winter blue/white at the top. At the bottom, power lines run through the maze of branches, and the tippy top of a wood deck with a layer of snow going across the top of the wood rail can be seen.

A heart-shaped struggle marks the spot with remains of a Canada goose. Based on the to and from tracks, it was a fox who’s den is nearby.

New fallen snow without humans being on the scene first indicates a fox may be the predator and a Canada goose his prey. I’m often over by rivers edge and thought some of the larger holes might be dens I’d some sort. The two sets of tracks indicate the stalking was fast and the struggle was contained in a rather small spot. It left a heart shaped “footprint” as the scene of the struggle

Nature is brutal and snow provides clues. Parts of a Canada goose show the struggle in the snow. Heart shaped snow Angel instead of an X marks the spot. Footprints to and from indicate a fox was probably the villain. I always thought that hole might be a den for something. New #fallensnow clues
