A boy is watching from a distance as a small crowd of researchers, forum members and scholars converse with his mother Cordelia and sister Eeva near Old Sharlayan’s Aetheryte Plaza, a fiery carbuncle in their midst. Monologue: [ Ever have I envied you.] Author’s note: Basildere is an NPC that can be found at Old Sharlayan’s Aetheryte Plaza. I made a younger version of him for the purpose of this comic. This comic also displays a younger version of Cordelia from when her children were little.

The camera zooms into the distant scene from before, where the conversations can now be heard. Leontine: “My, what a unique glow. And you summoned it all by yourself?” (the carbuncle) Cordelia: “Indeed. It was forged out of an Allagan Ruby my late brothers brought back from one of their excursions, gods rest their souls. Isn’t that so, Eeva?” Eeva: “Yes, Mother.”

The focus shifts to the carbuncle, a unique fiery aura surrounding it. Eeva: “I revised the formula’s aspect ratio to strengthen its aetherial potency.” Leontine: “So young and so gifted, truly remarkable.”

Monologue: [Your presence burned like the scorching sun, drawing me ever closer.] Basildere: “A little prodigy, then? Just like her mother. Your parents must be so proud of you.” Cordelia places a hand on her daughter’s shoulder, smiling with pride. Cordelia: “We are, indeed.”

This side story focuses primarily on Eeva's younger brother Silas and establishes important lore for my Warrior of Light.
