I have released v7.1.17 of #FediFetcher this morning.
This is a simple maintenance release, only updating dependencies.
If you are still using FediFetcher you should probably update as these fix some security vulnerabilities.

@owiecc
Wcześniej można było sobie radzić #FediFetcher-em albo dodatkiem do przeglądarki. No ale teraz to będzie rozwiązanie systemowe :)
I spent some time thinking about the options available for fetching missing replies in mastodon over the last few days since the 4.4 release, and wrote them down.
I'm honestly not sure how helpful this is, but I published it on my blog anyway […]
@mr_daemon I haven't turned it on yet, but the creator of #FediFetcher has commented on it

My Mastodon experience on my single-user instance has improved noticeably since I've been running the #FediFetcher script.

A reminder for all GitHub Action users of FediFetcher:
In about 4 weeks time the GitHub Action will likely cease working, unless you perform a manual update at least once every 60 days.
If you are currently running FediFetcher via GitHub Actions, please consider migrating to another option by […]
@sn0n@mastodon.social @Mastodon@mastodon.social @activitypub@lemmy.ml It's because servers are not all aware of one another. Something like #FediFetcher is a partial solution. But even that isn't perfect. Relays also exist. But it would be very nice if all of the various Fediverse software […]
Calling all FediFetcher users who are currently running FediFetcher as a GitHub Action:
Following recent changes by GitHub, and following the poll I was running, which showed that only a single respondent actually relies on GitHub Actions to run FediFetcher, GitHub Action support for […]
Sorry to spam y’all, but if you are using FediFetcher and running it as GitHub Action, I’d really appreciate it if you could vote in this poll:
Thanks!

Hey. If you are running FediFetcher as a GitHub Action I’d really love to hear from you.
As you probably know, the Action recently stopped working, and we need to find a solution to this.
Please have a read here, and let me know your thoughts, either by commenting on that GitHub issue, or by […]
Hi #mastoadmin I'm having an issue on a single user (+some bots) instance. I get "Nothing is trending right now. Check back later!" on the explore posts and news pages. the hashtag page is working it seems. I'm using fedi.buzz relays, I have #FediFetcher working but still nothing is populating […]
If you are running FediFetcher as a GitHub Action it is really important that you read this Issue as well, as it contains additional important information.
TL;DR: versions prior to 7.1.16 are no longer working when running as GitHub Action. Version 7.1.16 will cease working in 60 days, unless […]
I've just released v7.1.16 of FediFetcher.
This version improves compatibility with Pleroma instances, and it also contains an important update for users who run FediFetcher as a GitHub Action.

#FediFetcher
I've (successfully) tried out Fedifetcher recently and got curious after seeing some instances (misskey.io in this case) "blocking fedifetcher via their robots.txt", so I checked them manually and found they were actually not blocking anything.
After some investigating the result was that […]
Several people have asked me whether this makes FediFetcher obsolete. I thought I'd put out a more public response to this question:
Unfortunately I don't think I can retire FediFetcher just yet, as it still has some utility:
Firstly, FediFetcher can fetch context proactively without having […]
Looks like Mastodon is finally getting some built in functionality to fetch missing replies:

🥳
#mastoadmin #fedifetcher
Incidentally, I was recently asked about the current status of #FediFetcher because apparently it’s now stale.
It’s correct that the previous release was about 3 months ago. Whether you consider that stale is up to you to decide - it's certainly a lot longer between releases than it once was […]
I've just released v7.1.15 of #FediFetcher.
This is a maintenance release that simply updates a dependency. Thanks @iMeddles for your contribution!

@aku thanks for your kind words!
I must say tho that it’s far from just me maintaining and updating it.
I think that this year in particular more than half of code was contributed by others 💪
A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to #fedifetcher whether it be through code […]
Toying with #fedifetcher today. Turns out the fediverse is more active than I thought! Super neat being able to see all the replies from where you are. I uh, hope it's not too expensive to be running it though, I'll have to see if it's less fetches when done incrementally.
Did you know you can subscribe to GitHub notifications for new releases of FediFetcher?

#FediFetcher
#FediFetcher users, I need your help! I'm after supporting more Fediverse services in FediFetcher.
The top 3 unsupported services in my own use are:
* GoToSocial, which we cannot support, as they require authentication for all access.
* #Friendica, which their docs state should support […]
FediFetcher 7.1.5 now has support for #peertube
It also fixes a pesky bug that I happened to discover approximately 5 seconds after the release of 7.1.4 ...

I've just released #FediFetcher 7.1.4.
This adds a small number of minor improvements, so definitely worth upgrading to. Visit the release page for full details:

Answering my own question here: Yes the download-artifact action does preserve file modification times 👍
#FediFetcher #GitHubAction
Does anyone who uses the `dawidd6/action-download-artifact` GitHub action (e.g. people who run #FediFetcher as GitHub Action) know or can find out for me, whether this action maintains file modified times when downloading artifacts?
I'm trying to implement some better caching to further reduce […]
Hot on the heels of 7.1.0 comes 7.1.1 which fixes a couple of bugs.
You should probably update to 7.1.1 if you can:
