A Phyliitis Scolopendrium or Hart's Tongue Fern with spores. Growing very well in my parents' little courtyard garden. It's cool, damp and shady here, even on warm, sunny days.

The fernery at dusk tonight. This is about 1/3rd of it. All of these ferns seeded themselves in different parts of my garden. I've transplanted them here under numerous fir trees & they couldn't be happier. More to be transplanted.

My gardener brought me this fern last Fall from someone who wanted it gone. It was a clump of dirt with a few dead-looking sticks coming out of it. I put it in the fern "emergency room" section of my garden & here it is today. Thriving.
