A strange creature hovers in front of the sun. The creature has a vaguely humanoid torso, with a large head with an outer layer like a space suit helmet. There are two eyes looking out, but no other facial features. The arms look boneless, and connect to the body via flaps of skin. The lower body is a "tube" with three short "feet" at the end. Its colors are like a sunset, reds and purples.

Surprise! #Feybruary isn't dead! Hesperids live where the sun sets and are active when it draws near, gaining its heat and light and using them to shape the desert sands into glorious sculptures of glass.

A creature made of a burnt log, with crocodile-like features. Its legs are short stumps with orange ends, and its mouth is a simple set of jagged jaws. Four "spouts" are on its head, spouting flames.

#Feybruary once more! A pyrdile is a tree burned when the fire-loving salamanders expand their territory, now haunted by a spirit of vengeance that is only aggressive towards salamanders.

#Feybruary continues! Possibly the most classic of fae featured here, pooka are shapeshifters, retaining a "roster" of 4-6 animal shapes they take to spy on and confound those who enter their territory. Contradictory beings, they are equally likely to lead travelers astray or secretly benefit them.

A drowned god. Seeking wrath.
A kelpie is a shape-changing aquatic spirit of Scottish legend. Kelpies are said to haunt rivers and streams, usually in the shape of a horse. These are malevolent spirits, well known for drowning passersby. Bring a raw steak for safety.

#Feybruary! A gargrolla is an artificial creature made to guard a location, their body and head working together to defend their land. They can only be removed from their positions by secret passwords encoded by their creators, which can range from simple phrases to dances, games, or songs.

#feybruary continues with more fairy hounds. Here we see a fliegenhund and a kriechenhund, bred by the air elemental sylphs and earth elemental gnomes for their own purposes. Both are aggressive pest control, the flyers chasing away birds and the burrowers deadly to underground pests.

#Feybruary 7 - Unseelie. The "bad" fey, who don't like humans . . . although you can't really blame them. A bit devilish, because one concept of fey is that they are angels who weren't quite bad enough to fall all the way to hell.

#Feybruary 6 - Seelie. The "good" fey, in that they are neutral to humans and willing to deal fairly with them. Still, they aren't mentally or morally human, so gotta be careful. Didn't have much time to sketch today, but tomorrow's subject is more up my alley.

Another plant critter, mandrakes emerge only on dark nights to latch onto trees and parasitically suck their sap. Naturally delicious, they defend themselves with a psychic scream that leaves those who hear it temporarily mindless, easy prey for anything larger in the forest.

Today's #Feybruary is "elf". Kind of going with a toadstool theme but it didn't quite gel. My wrist got sore so I didn't finish it.

#Feybruary 4 - goblin. Pop culture seems to have settled on a slightly fraught depiction of goblins, so I went for something mischevious, a bit punk, a bit feral. She's roughly the size of a cat.

#Feybruary the 4th! Cernohund was one of the first monsters I drew for the site and could honestly use a complete redo. Their branchy antlers begin to interact with the forest itself as they age, and they gain minor control over the terrain to defend sacred groves.

#feybruary continues! Yamglers are a tuberous, potato-like plant that use their flower lures to draw in small animals to eat. Because they aren't dangerous to anything bigger than a rabbit, many fae will allow them to grow in their gardens as pest control.

Today's #feybruary is a banshee / bean sidhe, a female Irish spirit that heralds death. I'm not super happy with this one, I couldn't come up with a design I really liked. Tried to make it look like her only organs were lungs - ah well, tomorrow is another sketch.

Tooth fairies are one of the more whimsical denizens of The Veil. Born toothless, Tooth Fairies use a variety of materials for teeth. Some use shards of glass, some use small pebbles, but the most coveted prize is teeth from humans and animals. This is Niv, The Veils resident dentist. #feybruary

#feybruary 2 - Tooth Fairy. There are basically two ways to design tooth fairies, your basic Tinkerbell or Edgelord. I tried to go with something vaguely unsettling, after all it is a critter than sneaks about and is obsessed with children's teeth.
